We are proud of our WANDA Mom, Noelia Corzo, who is running for San Mateo – Foster City School Board. The vote will be held in San Mateo County on Nov 7th, 2017. View the impressive list of Noelia’s endorsements on her website. You can also donate to her campaign.
Let her tell you more about herself in her own words:
“I am a San Mateo native and graduate of our San Mateo-Foster City School District. My teachers at Park School, Abbott Middle School, and San Mateo High School provided me with educational opportunities that created the foundation for my professional success. These experiences ingrained in me the value of education and the belief that all students should be empowered to reach their potential.
I have first-hand experience with our public schools as an involved parent and PTA-member. My six year old son attends Fiesta Gardens International School, where I serve as the ELAC/PTA Liaison. I understand that an active parent community, whose feedback is valued, is essential to the success of our students.
I am a graduate of our local community college district and hold a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Sociology. With several years of experience in the business world as the foundation to my professional skills, being financially responsible is a strong value of mine. Currently, I am a social worker that works with children and adults with developmental disabilities. I also serve on the board of FGIS’ PTA and on the executive board of the San Mateo County Latina/o Democratic Club.
I value diversity in my friendships and community and enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I am a soccer coach for AYSO and a member of the local YMCA. I am bi-lingual and will engage with all of the stakeholders in our district to ensure that every student receives the education they deserve. I bring a unique perspective and experience that will advance collaboration to better our schools and neighborhoods.”
