DR. SHEILA HENDERSON AND PHD CANDIDATE IRAN GARCIA – WANDA RESEARCH/EVALUATION TEAM

IRÁN GARCÍA IS A DOCTORAL CANDIDATE, IN THE CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY PHD PROGRAM AT CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGY, ALLIANT INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY.

Irán is currently at Kaiser Oakland Pediatric and Child Psychiatry completing a year-long training program in behavioral medicine. Irán has a journal article in review based on her research on mentoring and has presented multiple poster presentations at the American Psychological Association (APA) conferences in the area of Latino elder mental health and cultural competence. Irán has assisted in research at the UC, San Diego Psychiatry Department, at the Center for Behavioral Epidemiology and Community Health, and at San Diego State University, including community projects at Casa Pacifica Adult Daycare Health Center in San Ysidro, California. As a clinical doctoral trainee, Irán has completed practicums at two non-profits in the SF Bay Area: La Familia and La Clinica de La Raza. Irán has an AA in psychology from Southwestern College, a BA in psychology from San Diego State University, and an MA in psychology from California School of Professional Psychology.
