Recap: Mother’s Day Tea

We hosted a fabulous Mother’s Day Tea for new WANDA allies to hear directly from two of our moms, Stacey Mobley and Sophia Sandoval. Both Stacey and Sophia kindly shared their first-hand experiences and how transformative the WANDA program was for their financial stability. Keep an eye out for their stories in our upcoming newsletters!

We were also honored with a reading from Jacki Rigoni, a single mom to three teenagers and Belmont’s 2018-2022 Poet Laureate, who shared “In Search of Mary’s Garden.” She is the author of Seven Skirts from Paloma Press, a book of poetry about coming apart and stitching together.

With a Master’s Degree in English from UC Berkeley, Jacki’s work has appeared in poetry journals, anthologies, and permanent public art installations. She currently works as Senior Legislative Aide to Supervisor Noelia Corzo, a WANDA graduate and Board Member.

We’d like to extend our gratitude to these three women and thank them for sharing their personal stories and accomplishments with us.
