When I was in first gradeI got back the results of one of my tests and showed it to my mother. I thought it was good enough – just a couple of stupid mistakes. My mother said to me – you shouldn’t make mistakes. You should be getting 100%. You should always check over your work at least once and if it’s important, at least twice.
She taught me to hold myself accountable to high standards and I think much of my success at work is because of that.
